Apple
Mill ® was established in 1927 by the English to horticulturist
William Scrope Viner. He selected Saluda because of its
reputation for growing flavorsome apples and berries.
Saluda, home of the original North Carolina Apple Festival
and the North Carolina Horticultural Society was the first
commercial apple growing region in North Carolina. Fine
quality fresh fruit, fruit butters, jams, preserves, and
mulled cider have been produced for decades at Apple Mill
®. These foods have been sold to the public at the
Apple Mill ® kitchen and store at Exit 28, I-26 Saluda,
NC. |
